Air Conditioning FAQs (5)
Does Air and Water do air conditioning servicing?
Yes, we do service air conditioners.
However we only service the brands that we supply as we can get our clients the best prices on parts, and we have the expertise to do quality repairs for these units.
Please call and discuss the issue you have with your system, as we may be able to provide advice.
Does Air and Water provide fixed priced quotes?
We provide as much certainty as possible with our pricing within our written quote. Our prices quoted are guaranteed for a full 365 days, as long as you provide us with your signed Acceptance Document and deposit within 14 days of the quote.
Unfortunately, some things cannot be confirmed until the date of installation.
If we have not attended site to check out the lay of the land, or quoted off professionally drawn plans, then there could be some variations incurred. The most common variation in the quote comes from electricians or refrigeration mechanics needing extra electrical or refrigeration pipework.
Our sales staff cannot provide accurate assessments of how much extra electrical or pipework may be needed because the rules are not straightforward, and electrical cable is not run back to the meter board “as the crow flies”.
Also without viewing to power box, there could be issues that require extra work. In some older home that have not been rewired, there could be asbestos boards and the wiring may also be faulty.
Please remember that if we need to use extra electrical or pipe, then other companies’ installers would have to as well (and they would also charge you for that).
Does Air and Water sell portable air conditioning?
We only sell portable evaporative air conditioning . The two evaporative air conditioners we stock are:
– Durango room only residential portable air conditioning unit treats up to 75m2
– Cool Breeze commercial portable air conditioning unit treats up to 240m2.
Do you install air conditioners if we’ve bought an air conditioner elsewhere?
No we don’t.
We only install air conditioners that we source and supply to ensure we deliver a quality air conditioning installation service. You also need to be aware that if you have separate installers from where you purchased your air conditioner, you may face problems in the event of a warranty claim if there is any doubt over whether the warranty claim relates to the unit or the installation.
Hot Water FAQs (3)
Does Air & Water install hot water systems in homes under construction?
Yes we do.
It is called a “plonk on” installation. With a plonk on, Air and Water install the hot water tank (and solar panels if applicable). But the plumber for the house then pipes up the hot water system to the outlets.
Does Air and Water service hot water systems?
Yes, we do service hot water systems. However we only service solar hot water systems currently.
Does Air and Water provide fixed price quotes?
We provide as much certainty as possible with our pricing within our written quote.
As described on our hot water pages, STC’s (the rebate) are based on a number of credits assessed on the system. These Credits are bought and sold on the open market, very much like the stock market. So the actual price of the credit can vary, and Air and Water can not guarantee what the rebate will be over time.
If we quote today and the rate falls tomorrow by a small amount we normally carry the loss. If it falls dramatically we will advise you and you can opt not to proceed.
If the rate has increased we provide the higher price.
Our air conditioner prices quoted are guaranteed for a full 365 days, as long as you provide us with your signed Acceptance Document and deposit within 14 days of the quote.
Unfortunately, some things cannot be confirmed until the date of installation. The most common variations in the quote when we are looking at hot water systems comes from plumbers needing extra gas pipework or gas pressure or a tempering valve being required. We will come to your home before the install to confirm these sort of issues, however some times our sales staff cannot provide an accurate assessment of gas pipework lengths or gas pressure because the rules are not straightforward and only licensed plumbers can make that assessment. Please remember that if we need to extra gas pipe or gas pressure, then other companies’ installers would have to as well (and they would also charge you for that).
Our sales staff cannot verify whether a tempering valve is required however we do detail the price of a tempering valve in our quotes, should one be required.
Solar Power FAQs (1)
Does Air and Water service photovoltaic systems?
No.
The reason being, if the system is properly installed there should be minimal maintenance required.
However we do advise that the panels are cleaned every two years as a minimum as a dirty panel will reduce the efficiency of the system.
Warm soapy water and a broom will sort this out.
